Going on a journey
This is me!
At the age of 17 I decided my vocation would be to become a veterinary nurse, I took it upon myself to train in several different practices and travelled the UK. Starting in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, Ashford in Middlesex, Esher, Surrey and Bicester in Oxfordshire.
It was meeting my husband that brought me back to Oxfordshire and we got our first home in Witney. I got married in 2010 and had two children. We couldn't afford to live in our current town so we made the huge jump to pack our bags and move to a completely different county. We chose Cinderford, Forest of Dean and have never looked back. We love it here.
My nursing career was 17 years long, but over the years my passions changed and I grew as a person. I knew that changes in my life needed to happen and it was finding the right thing to do and at the right time. Throughout my career as a veterinary nurse I suffered with upper and lower back pain. I saw many practitioners to help me but nothing was helping until I came across a soft tissue therapist. Within a few sessions of being treated by this wonderful woman that took away my pain, I knew that's exactly what I wanted to do. This lady also continues to play a huge role in my life.
Around the same time, I discovered the gym and started to train with weights. My love for fitness, routine and consistency all started to fall into place. My mental health also improved. I got myself a PT/Mentor and coach who also played a role in my self development and confidence. I needed accountability! Emotionally and physically.
So, I signed up for a level 5 diploma in soft tissue therapy. I spent that year working extremely hard on many areas of my life. Not only had I started a new career path, I was also made redundant from my last ever veterinary job and had started my journey as a bodybuilder figure competitor due to get on stage the week before my exams! If anything, the two went hand in hand together, the leaner I got, the more muscles I could see on my body that helped me go through my anatomy! I used my own body as a study tool.
I would not have done it any other way. 2019 was a life changing year and so much fun. Since then I have continued on my bodybuilding journey and will be returning to the stage very soon.
I am still building my knowledge and skills for my clinic and have big dreams for my business which I am working hard towards. I would like to build on the equipment and treatments that I have in my treatment room, which will all come in good time.
Covid 19 hit me hard with a full 10 months of not being able to work. But I used this time wisely to continue my personal development by completing a Pelvis Masterclass.
Soft tissue therapy is my passion and you will see me with my head stuck in a book of body parts. I will educate you and look after you.
