Lockdown Covid 19

So lockdown March 23rd 2020 hit us all. Schools closed and sadly so did my business. As a family we came together and I became a teacher, which actually although hard, I became pretty good at it – my kids might say otherwise as I’m sure school of mum was way stricter than real school!

The new norm!

My gym also had to close and I watched all my friends businesses take huge hits. It was a scary time for a lot of us. The first lockdown I was unable to use borrowed equipment or even buy it, so from March 23rd to the 11th July I didn’t train. I did a bit of TXR training in the garage and a lot of walking, but my body mass started to change and it was frustrating.

I did a little water painting of all the businesses that where important too me at the time, all off the ground just waiting to to come back to land.

At the end of the summer holidays, as restrictions were easing off, we took a trip to see James’s parents in France. But while we were there, the rules changed again!  We needed to leave early due to France going on the red list. So that came to an abrupt end with a very rushed, all day journey from the south of France to home!

Bit by bit the country was starting to reopen and one of my children returned to school in June. I then was able to start seeing people again. My body composition was unfolding and I was unable to hold myself accountable, but was able to find help from my next coach. Calvin Gowland. #CrgFitness

In Oct 2020 I signed up with Calvin and he helped me get back to where I needed to be. Diet and training became a good part of my life again. Unfortunately another lock down was looming and on the 5th Nov 2020 the country was shut down again.

This time my husband’s gym ‘Relentless’ in Mitcheldean saved me and lent us equipment. Such a blessing! I trained in the garage in the cold and at one point with no lighting. The whole time Calvin supported me, almost on a daily basis, keeping me accountable during this hard time. He played another huge role in where my journey was about to lead me to. He reminded me that I had so much potential and never to give up, I put in 100% effort week in week out. The picture shows the result!

The 2nd lockdown ended on 2nd Dec. Back to the gym we go! But as the New Year approached, heart wrenchingly, we all knew we were heading for a 3rd lockdown on the 6th January! Garage training it was again, great start to 2021!  See you at the other end of April!

Garage training!

Finally, we could all start to move on. I moved my business into a little room above Ironmasters Gym. Things settled and I was able to move on with my business and training.

I set up my website with help from my sister and started an online booking system and became paperless . This was a game changer!

It was such a challenging time, but things were starting finally starting to look up.
